SONO-VARIO STANDARD is suited for measuring of abrasive materials like Sand and gravel. The probe head consists of stainless steel with a rectangular ceramic window.

SONO-VARIO XTREM is suited for measuring of highly abrasive bulk materials such as 8-32mm gravel, sewage sludge, etc. The probe head is made of highly abrasion-resistant hardened steel and has a rectangular ceramic window. Special feature: exchangeable probe head.

The TRIME technology guarantees precise measurements even under difficult conditions (e.g., if water and sand are charged with minerals with up to 12dS/m pore water conductivity).   6. A RS485 interface enables network operation of the sensor. It already contains a data bus protocol for the connection of several SONO sensors. The connection of the sensor to industrial buses such as Profibus, Ethernet, etc. is possible via optional external modules (available upon request).

Ensuring quality directly at the point of origin – directly at the construction site! This is no problem for the handy two-rod probe SONO-M1 for the measurement in sand, gravel and other aggregates. Based on state-of-the-art radar technology.

To conduct the measurement, the probe rods are simply inserted into the material and the measurement is performed with the mere actuation of the start button. Within two seconds, the moisture measurement value is presented on the clear display. In contrary to the kiln-drying method where the measurement is usually restricted to a measured volume of 3 to 5 litres, and the CM test which only measures approximately 50 ml, the HD2 is able to provide the user with a moisture content value of a measured volume of 1.25 litres with only one measurement. In the operation mode "Average Value", merely 6 measurements are sufficient to provide the fast and accurate measurement of a material volume of 7.5 litres within a few seconds. This is what we call representative and progressive.


Within the operating mode "Average Value", the HD2 will deliver a representative measurement result of all measured locations that represents significant volume of the material.

The TRIME®-GW probe series offers optimal probe designs for many different applications. Every probe also has an integrated temperature sensor, thus offering the option of measuring material temperature.
 
 

The standard GR probe can be installed up to a depth of 150 mm directly in the grain dryer’s wall. At temperatures of up to 127°C and a measuring volume of approximately 2 liters, the GR probe offers optimal conditions for all materials that can be easily poured. With the temperature sensor attached to the tip of the rod, you can easily measure the correct temperature directly in the goods.
The body of the probe is made of temperature-stable PEEK plastic which has been approved for use with food products. It thus guarantees the trouble-free operation of the moisture probe under the most extreme environmental conditions.

Due to their wedge-shaped designs, the WS2 and WS3 probes can be inserted directly into the material to be measured without any significant compaction
occurring.
The wedge-shaped probe can be used wherever medium-to-high moisture levels or high conductivity and high mineral contents are expected in the materials being measured. For instance, in malt houses and malt-extracting plants.
With the WS3 probe, moisture levels of up to 70% can be detected.

The GS1 and GS2 surface probes are especially suitable for applications in which an optimal flow of material has to be guaranteed, and where rods could have a negative influence. The dripping property of the goods being measured (e.g., flour, middlings, wood shavings, etc.) is unaffected by the surface probes.

The large measuring volume of the GS1 guarantees precise measuring results, even with goods that are very difficult to measure, such as wood shavings with a density of < 0,2 g/cm3. Belt dryers constitute another area in which the surface probe is widely used.

1-ROD LINE Probe

A 1-rod probe can be used in applications for measurement of larger material volumes inside a storage silo or in a grain dryer at up to 80°C temperature range. The metallic wall of the silo, container or dryer acts as the second rod of the 1-ROD LINE Probe. This means that the moisture of the material is measured which lies between the metallic wall and the rod. Dependent on material and density, rod length are possible between 1 and 4 meter. Optionally the 1-ROD LINE Probe can be delivered with an integrated temperature sensor and in different thicknesses. It can be installed with flexible glass fiber holders on a metallic wall or suspended on springs and fitted into a metal frame. Versatile use of materials like hops, wood chips, maize, wheat, rye, triticale, oilfruits and many others.

• TRIME probes measure conductivity with the same large soil volume as it will be used for the TDR moisture measurement. The contact of the probe rods inside the soil is far less critical as with "galvanic" EC probes with a point to point measurement where even small air gaps lead to significant deviations.

• TRIME probes use coated and therefore isolated rods which guarantee the non-appearance of galvanic accumulation along the rods allowing for long-run installations over many years. Unisolated rods means there is a risk of galvanic reactions and possible influence on the sensor´s reading with serious problems when the probes must be removed from larger depths due to a rod cleaning.

• TRIME probes measure moisture and conductivity very precisely at a frequency of 1GHz with a better and more exact separation of moisture and conductivity in comparison to capacitive probes with lower frequencies. This means that in practice, a reliable determination of the pore water conductivity ECw and respectively TDS (mg of salt per liter water) is possible at different moisture levels.

• All TRIME probes work with a concurrently basic calibration for moisture and conductivity. This allows a check of the limits of saline stress in soils according to standards of FAO2006 for specific soils.

The IMKO HD2 - measuring the soil moisture content, the soil conductivity EC, and the level of salt contamination can now be performed as fast and easy as never before! Within two seconds, the moisture content value, the temperature, and the soil conductivity EC are displayed on the clear display. The exact measurement of moisture even in bulk materials with higher mineral content which dispose of a pore water conductivity of up to 12dS/m - the quality guarantee where conventional capacitive sensors either fail or deliver unreliable values.

  1. The TRIME technology ensures safe measurements even under difficult conditions, e.g. if the bulk material contains conductive elements with up to 12dS/m pore water conductivity. The radar-based evaluation of the conductance (RbC – Radar based Conductance) enables to establish the mineral content in the measured material and consequently ensures an improved quality control.
  2. The sensor head and the electronics dispose of a modular construction. In case of a mechanical break down of the sensor head, the same can be exchanged easily. The existing SONO electronics remain unaffected.

 SONO-MIX: The toughest mixer probe for the measurement of concrete moisture
